Studies show that relative to the unshielded package, this shielding has been found to offer 15% more radiation tolerance in the proton environment and 6.5X more radiation tolerance in the electron environment.

Micross Components has significant quantity of the Hitachi 58C1001 128Kx8 EEPROM die in stock that has been shown to be Radiation Tolerant to ~50K Rads(Si) Total Dose in unshielded packages AND over 100K Rads(Si) Total Dose in Micross Components Rad-Shield Flatpak package. Micross Components offers this die in standard package types for 32-lead Flatpak or CSOJ (AS58C1001 Shielded or standard) & a 68Lead CQFP version for the 128Kx32 MCM configuration(AS8ER128K32). DSCC SMD versions are also available.
